Aeropress (Traditional Method)

The Aeropress method is growing in popularity for several reasons.

Lightweight and durable, it is a great portable option that requires no electricity.

The Aeropress produces a cup that is clean yet flavourful, with less coffee sediment than a French Press.

Depending on the recipe you use, you can brew espresso-like coffee or a lighter filter-style coffee.

Grind size: Medium-fine grind, smoother than sand.

Weight of ground coffee: 18g

Volume of water: 240ml

Best freshly ground but if you don't have a grinder we are happy to do it for you!

  1. Boil the kettle and leave to rest for 1 minute.
  2. Insert a paper filter into the cap of the Aeropress and pre-wet it with the hot water.
  3. Remove the plunger and place your mug underneath the base of the Aeropress.
  4. Add 18g ground coffee into the Aeropress and pour 240ml of water.
  5. Stir a few times and place plunger into the Aeropress to stop the coffee dripping.
  6. Leave to brew for 2 minutes and gently press down to extract the rest of the coffee.

Top Tip: Pre-wetting the paper filter gets rid of the paper odour that may affect the flavour profiles of the coffee.
