V60 is a pour-over brew method. It is easier to do a V60 if you have a goose-neck kettle to control the water you pour.
It is more technical than other home brewing methods but it produces a clean, bright cup of coffee with clarity. The cone-shaped dripper and paper filters ensure even water flow which is a crucial factor to achieve proper extraction.
Grind size: Medium Coarse
Weight of ground coffee: 16g
Volume of yield: 250ml
Best freshly ground but if you don't have a grinder we are happy to do it for you!
- Boil the kettle and leave to rest for 1 minute (93C).
- Start by pre-wetting your filter paper in the dripper.
- Place a coffee carafe/ mug under the dripper.
- Weigh your coffee and pour into the dripper. Swirl it around to make sure the coffee bed is flat.
- Pour 60g of water and wait for 30 seconds to 'bloom'. You will see bubbles appearing from the gas that the coffee is emitting.
- After 30 seconds, carry on to pour the rest of the water in a circular motion steadily over the coffee until it measures 250g.
